We’re delighted that you have chosen to live at Crossings, exclusive living in the heart of Macclesfield. The following guidelines are here to help you, and all residents, to keep the block as a safe, secure and welcoming environment.

  • The Tenancy Agreement you have signed details your responsibilities. These guidelines are in addition to those requirements and are simply designed to keep Crossings a great place to live, work and play.

  • Email us at crossings@homesbychalk.com.

For emergency out of hours repairs, call us on our 24 hour response line, 0800 012 1311.

  • You’ll receive a set of keys with your new home.

You’ll be charged for replacement keys so please look after them.

  • No matter how well designed the building is, noise travels – especially if it’s loud. Please be mindful of your volume and your neighbours.

  • We know that pets bring great value to our lives.

If you want to keep a pet at Crossings, please ask permission and stick to our Pet Policy, which is available on request.

  • You should not use nails, screws or any fixings that may damage the walls within your flat.

If you use proprietary ‘command’ strips, you must not damage the wall or décor when you take them down. There is guidance on their website: https://command.3m.co.uk/

  • IF YOU DISCOVER A FIRE IN YOUR APARTMENT:

    - Tell everybody in your apartment and leave the building immediately via the stairs. Shut all doors behind you.
    - If there is a lot of smoke within the apartment, then you should crawl along the floor where the air should be clearer and the temperature cooler.
-Call 999 as soon as you’re in a safe place.

Other residents are safe to stay in their apartments and should not evacuate unless instructed to do by the Fire and Rescue Service.

WHAT TO DO IF THERE IS A FIRE IN A COMMUNAL AREA:

-Anyone in the communal areas should leave the building and call 999.
-All other residents should ‘stay put’ unless directed by the Fire and Rescue Service to evacuate.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE TO LEAVE THE BUILDING:

-Let Peaks and Plains Housing Trust know. This information will be stored securely on site and made available for the Fire and Rescue Service. It will also be regularly refreshed.

You can find our fire safety policy for communal spaces here.

  • Accidents happen - it’s a fact of living in a flat. There will be repairs and, occasionally, unintended damage. Please report this promptly and we will organise a repair or replacement.

All you need to do is email crossings@homesbychalk.com.

  • We hope that you enjoy the shared spaces at Crossings.

Once you’ve finished using a space, please return seating and furnishings to their original positions and leave the room as you’d like to find it.

We’d love it if you reported any communal repairs straight away too - email us at crossings@homesbychalk.com

  • We have limited parking available. Please let us know if you would like to rent a space from us for £65pcm.

  • Your comfort and safety is our priority. Please don’t let anyone you don’t know into the building via the intercom.

We know it’s polite to hold doors open, but please make sure you don’t let anyone follow you in while the main door is open.

  • Think you know how we can build an even more friendly, happy vibe at Crossings? We’d love to hear your ideas - email us at crossings@homesbychalk.com.
